The highly anticipated EU-Namibia Business Forum is all set to make its debut in Brussels from October 24 to 25, 2023. This momentous event brings together key players from the European Union and Namibia to explore new avenues of collaboration in the realms of sustainability and green energy.

Namibia, a nation celebrated for its exceptional political stability and abundant renewable resources, is poised to emerge as a global leader in the green hydrogen revolution. With plentiful wind and solar energy, rare earth minerals, and vast ocean biomass resources, Namibia stands at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions.

One of the defining moments in this collaboration was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Namibian President Dr. Hage Geingob during the COP27 summit in Egypt in November 2022. This MOU paved the way for a strategic partnership between Namibia and the EU, focusing on Renewable Hydrogen (GH2) and Sustainable Raw Materials Value Chains.

Namibia's strategic alliance with the EU positions it as the first African country to embark on a journey towards becoming a green hydrogen producer and exporter. This move holds the potential to significantly contribute to global efforts to combat climate change and achieve decarbonisation.
