A joint venture between the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group and Compaignie Maritime Belge (CMB)’s clean tech division, CMB.TECH.
Cleanergy Solutions Namibia is leading the development of a green hydrogen production pilot plant in Namibia’s Erongo region. This demonstration hub comprises of hydrogen production, a refueling station and a training centre.
As the world races to limit global warming and reach net-zero emissions by 2050, in accordance with the United Nation’s global roadmap, one of the key shifts required to ensure a sustainable future includes the transition to clean energy solutions.
Outlined in the Harambee Prosperity Plan II, Namibia aims to become the first country to reach net-zero emissions in Africa. Leading the relentless pursuit of a sustainable future for all, the O&L Group is actively working towards this objective, guided by its Purpose: “Creating a future, enhancing life”. In partnership with CMB.TECH with its expertise in the production and application of hydrogen and green ammonia, the fuels of the future, this joint venture combines the O&L Group’s investment in Namibia and its renewable energy capabilities, and the strengths of CMB.TECH in hydrogen and industrial applications.
Cleanergy Solutions Namibia’s ambitions go beyond the initial production of the country’s first green hydrogen demonstration plant to be built in the Erongo region. Building on the expertise that will be acquired during the construction of the hydrogen plant, Cleanergy will simultaneously develop a larger green hydrogen and ammonia factory in Namibia.
